LESSON PLAN - HOUSEHOLD SERVICES

I. Objectives: 
              At the end of the period the TLE Grade 8 students are expected to.      
                             a. Identify the different cleaning supplies and materials
                             b. Explain the functions of the different cleaning supplies
and materials
                             c.  Participate in class discussion
                            d. Value the importance of having the availability of cleaning                  
supplies and materials                                                                                                  
II. Subject Matter:

a.   Content: TYPES AND USES OF HOUSEHOLD SERVICES CLEANING SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS
b.   Content Standard: : The learners demonstrate an understanding of the core concepts and theories in household services.
c.    Performance Standard:independently use and maintain cleaning tools and equipment in HS according to standard procedures
d.   Learning Competency:
 LO: Use appropriate cleaning tools ,equipment, supplies and materials.

f.    Materials: Printed Pictures (Puzzles) of Different Household Services Cleaning supplies and materials, Laptop, Bluetooth Speaker, Projector and box of rolled papers.

Ø  The teacher will pass a box containing rolled papers in different colors (yellow, red, blue and green)

Ø  Who can give me the function of household cleaning tools?
Ø  Why it is important to know the different cleaning tools?

ACTIVITY
(PICTURE PUZZLE)
Ø  the teacher will group the students into 4 groups by following the color paper they pick during the review
Ø  group 1(yellow), group 2 (blue), group 3(green) and group 4 (red)
Ø  the teacher will give each group 2 envelope containing pictures of supplies and materials that are in puzzle form.
Ø  Each group will post the puzzle on the board in 2minutes.
Ø  What did you post on the board?

ANALYSIS
        (The teacher will check the answer of each group. after checking the teacher will ask the following questions )
Ø  What can you say about the activity?
Ø  How did you feel while doing the activity?
Ø  How did you find working with your group?
Ø  Whatare the different cleaning supplies and materials?
Ø  Why it is important to know how to identify different household cleaning supplies and materials at home?
Ø  Why it is important to know how to identify different household cleaning supplies and materials at school?

Ø  The teacher will call a representative each group to explain the function of each picture puzzle they arrange on the board.

Ø  Now let us check your answers
Ø  (The teacher will discuss the different cleaning supplies and materials through powerpoint presentation)
Ø  What is a cleaning detergent?
Ø  What is a scrubbing foam?
Ø  What is the different between scrubbing foam and a sponge?
Ø  What is the purpose of waste container?
Ø  What is a baking soda?
Ø  Where do you commonly use the baking soda?
Ø  Why do you think you need to use gloves in cleaning?

APPLICATION
      “HOUSEHOLD SERVICES ADVERTISEMENT”
Ø  Since the students are already by group the teacher will give the instruction or the mechanics of the game.
Ø  Each group will pick at least 3 household supplies and materials.
Ø  They need to use their cellphone and do their own household services commercial or advertisement and they need to sell their products (supplies and materials)
Ø  They need to be creative and put the price and the use of the product in their commercial.
Ø  They will be given 10 minutes to practice and 3 minutes for the performance.
Ø  Other member of the group should prepare an inventory list for their products.
