TEACHER’S ACTIVITY
______________________________
A. Classroom Routine
Prayer
Ø May I request everyone to stand up and start our day with a
prayer.
Greetings
Ø Good morning class
Checking of
Attendance(secretary)
Ø
Secretary of the class please check the attendance.Thank you
Classroom
Management
Ø
Before you take your seats please pick
up the pieces of paper under your chairs and arrange your chairs as well. You
may now take your seat.
B.Recall
Ø Before we will start our new lesson let’s have a recall first by
playing a game!
Ø The teacher will give instruction before the students
Picture Perfect Game
It assesses students’
understanding of key concepts. Encourage students to explain key concepts and
to think on their feet.
Ø Materials needed:
Ø A set of keywords
or topics and related pictures
Ø Mechanics:
Ø The class is split
into teams, and all students stand together in their teams. The teacher
introduces a topic (DIFFERENT MEASURING TOOLS IN CARPENTRY) and then shows
the first picture. A student from team A steps forward and relates the
picture to the topic. If she is successful, then the next picture is shown,
and a student from team B will step forward. The pictures can range from
having literal relevance to the topic (a picture of a carpenter using
PULL-PUSH RULE while working; so therefore the student could describe the function
and importance of PULLPUSH RULE). The teacher awards points to the teams for
a successful explanation. When the pictures have finished, the teacher can
begin a new topic.
Variations
Easier:
Ø Include some words on the picture that may help the students to
talk about the picture.
Harder:
Ø Keep the picture up for a set period of time
so if one student has run out of things to say, a teammate can then step
forward to ensure that the time is filled.
Ø Why do you think it is important to know the different measuring
tools?
Ø Ver good!
C.Motivation:
Ø What can you say about the board/table or door?
Ø Yes, What can you say about the height?
Ø Very Good! What do you
think did the carpenter used to get the correct measurement?
Ø What is the two system of measurements?
Ø Excellent! What do you think our lesson for today?
D.Lesson
Proper:
Ø ACTIVITY
Text Rush
Ø Class I will group you into four groups.
The teacher
will give instruction before the students will go to their respective groups.
Ø The teacher will count 1 to 5 that’s the time the students will
stand and go to their respective assign area.
Ø Another 1-5 counts the students will sit properly on the assign
area.
Ø The first group who will group quietly will receive 5pts.
(The teacher will remind the students about their rules when they are
super noisy. Clap once-means that there are 2-4 students who are noisy or not
listening.Clap twice-there are 5-10 students who super noisy and clap
thrice-almost all are noisy and not paying attention and they will be minus
on their activity.)
Ø each group will present their group in 1 minute only. example they
will RAP,SING,DANCE OR SPOKEN POETRY by yelling their Group name.then teacher
will give the instruction or the mechanics of the game.
Ø The teacher will post different picture object on the board and put a big ruler with
inches and cm measurement on it.each group will send their answer thru text. The
first group who will send their correct answer will receive 5pts.
Ø Are you ready class?
Analysis:
(The teacher will check the answer of each group. after checking
the teacher will ask the following questions)
1.
What can you say about the activity?
2.
How did you find working with your
group?
Abstraction:
Showing power point presentation (lecture)
The teacher will discuss the two types of measurements and how
to read graduations of some measuring tools.
Guide Questions

Ø Pull-push rule – used for measuring long pieces of stock.
Ø Zig Zag Rule – a folded measuring tool.
Ø Ruler – used for measuring short pieces of stock.
Ø Caliper – used for measuring diameter.
Ø Try Square – used for checking flatness and squareness.
Ø Meter Stick – a measuring device which is one (1) meter in
length.
Ø Divider – used for dividing distances.
Ø Compass – used for scribing arcs and circles.
Ø Protractor – used for laying out angles.
Ø Ma’am it is important to know the different measuring tools so
that we can use the right tool on the right job.
Ø Ma’am the board is green, it is rectangle the door is brown
Ø It is tall
Ø They use pull push rule or meter stick and try square
Ø Ma’am English and metric system

Ø Ma’am English system and Metric System
Ø The English system originated in England
also known as the U.S. customary system of measurement.

Ø No question ma’am.
Ø Yes ma’am we understand!
Ø the Metric System was developed in France and also known as the
S. I. (International Standard).
Meter,decimeter 1/10 meter

millimeter 1 /1000 meter
Ø No more question ma’am!
Ø Yes ma’am we understand!
Ø Ma’am measuring is one of the first basic skills that a
carpenter should master to have a good
and correct output or product.
Ø Ma’am it is important to get correct measurement because inaccurate measurements lead to wasted time
